CAMHS Andover

At Transform we offer a variety of services ranging from venue decoration to interior design. September 2014 was a special month for us as we completed an interior design and refurbishment project for the Children and Adolescents Mental Health Services (CAMHS) waiting room at Andover Hospital. CAMHS are run by Sussex Partnership and provide mental health care and treatment for children and young people up to the age of 18. CAMHS employees work with children and young people who are experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties, helping them with conditions such as eating disorders, self-harming and post-traumatic stress disorder. As part of a project funded by Andover County Council and the Lights Theatre, we worked closely with the service users and staff to decide how to decorate the small space. Over a period of 9 months, we designed a selection of themes for the service users to choose from, and then, with the help of some willing volunteers, we painted and decorated the waiting room and added some soft furnishings to make it feel more comfortable. We also transformed an old cupboard into a small nook / play area for smaller children to have fun and play in. Service user Joe certainly approved, saying “It looks much better now!!”
