Combining contrasting patterns and prints will be the new big trend in 2020 & 2021 within interiors and fashion and one that is being used more and more in the event world.
Mixing and matching textures and patterns can really set the atmosphere for an event. It gives guests plenty to look at and gives a quirky vibe whilst also staying on trend.
Colour of the year 2020, according to Pantone, is Classic Blue – a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk. Other colours that will be trending this year will be Flame Red and Fuchsia.
These key colours can be implemented into a design through decorations, lighting and printed materials. Play with different hues to gain interest within the space whilst maintaining a cohesive look.
We are already seeing jungle prints coming back into fashion and they will feature strongly on the catwalks in Spring/Summer 2020.
Tropical used to mean lots of wood but now, in the events sector, you can mix this with brass trims, bright florals, subtropical fronds and the odd animal to create that wow-factor!
Touches Of Neon
Neon is one of the lighting trends for 2020. This has accelerated since artist Tracey Emin chose to use neon by bending lighting tubes in her own handwriting style to express her thoughts and feelings.
Neons are always visually powerful at an event. This could be from a single scripted word over the bar to a full installation creating an Insta-worthy photo backdrop.
